Improve Musculoskeletal Health Through Movement Quality is our mission.

mEET OUR TEAM

We strive to empower people along their health journey by understanding how they move in the real-world.

Kurt Schütte, PhD

Chief executive officer, Co-founder

After doing his PhD in biomechanics, he recognized the need for affordable, evidence-based biomechanics analysis in-field. His vision as CEO is that within the next three years every clinician and coach will be supporting their expertise with data-driven insights to help their clients reduce injuries while improving performance. He believes that Runeasi will be the catalyst to fulfilling this vision, by bridging the gap between science and practice.

Tim co-founded Runeasi as he believes that wearable technology can offer an affordable solution to physios to support their evidence-based decision-making. When applied correctly and with the right scientific underpinning of concepts in biomechanics, A.I. can leverage the similarities between patients to provide actionable and individual insights. As our CTO, Tim is motivated to improve our product every day by combining A.I. and biomechanics.

Prof. Benedicte vanwanseele

Scientific Advisor, co-founder

Benedicte is the head of the Human Movement Biomechanics Research Group at KU Leuven. At KU Leuven she develops insights as well as tools to come to personalized rehabilitation and training regimens to enable every individual to perform to the best of their own ability. As our scientific advisor, she improves the backbone of our wearable technology through rigorous scientific validation of our biomechanical analysis. She believes that Runeasi has the potential to enable physiotherapists to optimize their treatment by providing patient-specific objectives and relevant measures on movement and loading.

Runeasi combines Jesse’s big passions: sports and analyzing data. As an advisor and board member, he brings his skills in applying artificial intelligence and data science techniques to solve real-world practical problems. In particular, his research about analyzing data arising from professional sports has received significant attention, and has been covered by FiveThirtyEight, The New York Times, ESPN, and The Economist.

MSc Philip Cortvriendt

Customer success manager

Philip achieved a master’s degree in physiotherapy & rehabilitation sciences and has core expertise in the field of running, working with both recreational and elite runners. Philip has the unique role of educating Runeasi physiotherapists and helping them translate biomechanical insights into targeted strength and conditioning exercises- specifically on how they can improve their client care using scientifically validated biomechanical insights from our Runeasi analytics.

Timothée completed his master’s degree in Communication Studies (Strategic Communication) at the University of Antwerp, after obtaining a bachelor’s in Communication Management (Commercial Communication), shaping his view on sales and marketing. His mission is to raise awareness in the market for the crucial added value of wearable tech. All physios, coaches, sports doctors, podiatrists, and athletes should get the chance to enjoy the advantages of Runeasi and lead the way for better injury prevention, enhanced rehab, accurate decision making, and evidence-based advice.

5 rEASONS TO USE OUR APP

1. Global movement quality

Track and improve your client’s Runeasi running quality. Identify their weakest link with our advanced visualisation.

2. individual recommendations

Get individual training and cueing recommendations to improve your client’s weakest link.

3. Real-time feedback

4. Session trends

Learn more about your client’s running quality during daily training. Our session trends show when and where the quality drops with fatigue.

5. Quick comparisons

Compare pre-post data to show intervention effects on the movement quality.

3 REASONS TO CAPTURE DATA USING THE RUNEASI BELT

1. No motion artifacts. The Runeasi belt is secured tightly against the body and the skin to capture the actual movements of the body’s center of mass. Attaching or clipping the sensor directly to the pants would allow the sensor to wobble from side to side (i.e., measuring the wobbling of the pants, and not the human body.

2.  Easy to standardize the sensor’s positioning. The Runeasi belt makes it easy to consistently position the sensor close to the center of mass. Attaching the sensor directly to the pants would dramatically affect the reliability of the outputs as the height and tightness of the pants will affect the results. Moreover, these pants attachments often shift sideways while running which further decreases the data quality.

 3. Comfortable to wear.  Hundreds of runners confirmed that they immediately forget about our belt while running. This allows them to move without any restrictions and allows us to capture movements that are representative of a client’s true biomechanics.
