Announcing exciting partnership between RunEasi
and the Flemish Athletics Federation
(Dutch: Vlaamse Atletiekliga, VAL)
Owen Malone, Head of Topsport Science at The Flemish Athletics Federation (VAL), has announced on February the first, 2024, that “we have started implementing RunEasi in our elite distance running program in Leuven, where both top athletes and young talents train under the supervision of our coaches Rik Didden and Dirk Engelen.“
The Partnership
When asking Owen how he views the partnership, he says: “The RunEasi technology is the perfect addition to a program that focuses on scientifically validated training methods with special attention to stability and running technique.” Regarding his aspirations, he says “looking ahead, we are working with RunEasi to further optimize our technology for continuous load monitoring and daily fatigue management“.
Kurt Schutte, the CEO of RunEasi says that: “our goal in this partnership is to have an impact on the Flemish athletics community. We aim to do this by improving their access to cutting-edge technology, to foster innovation in both training and competition, and to contribute to the overall growth and development of the sport.
The Added Value
Owen mentions that “Runeasi will not only provide added value for the training programming of our distance runners but also for our athletes in the explosive athletics disciplines. In these disciplines, there is currently a great need for reliable monitoring of acute and chronic strain as heart rate monitors and GPS trackers provide insufficient information.”
